08/-10-10 - "Hey this is Wolfgang! It's been almost two years since I've joined Mystic 7 and it's been a hell of a ride! I love these guys and I love this band. I can only hope this will last forever. What the hell...let's make that happen! I hope to see each and every one of you out at the clubs dancing and going nuts to the sound of Thunder and the rumble of Mystic 7. Just watch out for flying Wolfgang's!" - Matthew "Wolfgang" Cahill
11-07-09 - I have decided to do some long overdue recording ;-) I am planning on re-recording some of my favorite songs from a few years back, and well as some new ones that have been floating around in my head. I’m a hoping to get this done in a relatively short amount of time. I will try and keep this post updated. - James
10-04-09 - We had a great weekend down in Canon City. 1st we
played at “My Brothers Place” on Friday, and then had a packed house Saturday at Griffin’s. 1:30 in the morning and the crowed did not want us to
stop. We got paid 35% over and above what was agreed upon since the bar did so
well. So cheers to Griffin’s.
09-20-09 - Mystic 7 has booked their New Year’s show with Gasoline Alley. OMG this will be the place to be, come Dec 31st.
07/04/09 - We have found a Bassist, “Bill Knox.” Bill is a top notch bass player and will fit in perfectly. As of this point it looks like Bill will be taking over officially on July 17th, the day of the Griffin’s show.
06/25/09 - A bit of sad news: Dave our bass player may not be with us much longer. All
members have decided that with the increase in Mystic 7 shows and becoming more
in demand, it has gotten too hard to schedule shows around Dave’s other Band
6035. Dave has much more vested interest with them and we would never expect
him to choose one over the other. Dave
is a good friend to all of us, and we would keep him if we could.
M7 is now auditioning bassists, and will hopefully have someone soon.
06/20/09 - We would like to apologize to anyone that may have come late
to see us at the Blue Iguana. We played an awesome show Thursday night at Gasoline Alley, and the place was
packed until close.
Unfortunately we got shafted by Blue Iguana. I guess they are under the assumption
that we are suppose to bring them business. We had quite a few people come out
to Gasoline Alley, and only a few came to the Blue Iguana, so the owner told us
to pack it up after the first set. He did not want to pay us what we had agreed
on. Needles to say we will not book there again.
02-24-2009 - I bit of music news for ya. I am planing on running a test ad campaign through Google. I have set up a ZIP file that
will contain 11 of the Original songs I have recorded. These songs will then be
available for download off the site.
I am hoping that this will generate a buz, and a few more
people to visit the website. James
02-07-2009 - Mystic 7 had a very good practice session last night and all the members were pleased. There is still quite a few songs that need to get tight, but with these guys it shouldn’t be but a thing.
01-30-2009 - Milestone: Mystic 7 has accomplished some significant ratings among the
search engines; we all know that Google and Yahoo are the most powerful search
engines in the world…
If anyone does a search for “Colorado Springs Live Rock Music” what you will find is that Mystic 7 is at the
top of the page, or at least on the front page.
01-11-2009 - Hola, I have been doing a lot of changes to the website and
will be adding the new members as they give me their info. An estimated guess on the next show would
probably be late March, or early April.
With Mike Ford and Wolfgang on board things should move pretty fast.
The Bassist that’s appears will joining will be Pugsly.
J.T.
12-24-2008 - I
have come across a really good guitarist, Matt (aka Wolfgang). Everything seems
to be hitting off really well with him and I, now we are narrowing down some other
musicians to join the band and will be talking to a bassist and drummer after
this fallowing week. Wolfgang and I have about 20 song already lined up, so
when all the ducks are lined up, it shouldn’t take too long to get out to the
clubs.
James
11-01-2008 - I’ am currently playing some sporadic
shows with Mike Ford, Bill Barrett, Johnny Flash and Karrie. Assuming there is not much traffic
coming through here due to the lack of Mystic 7 action.
There is probably not much point in putting up any shows I may be involved
with. I will however post the shows anyway for those who may want to stop
by and say hello.
I’ am keeping pretty busy with my
course work, (computer science) and do not have much time for recordingL.
I am however 75% the way done with a tribute song I wrote for Paul Stanley. I will post it as soon as it is complete.
James
10-27-2008 - Hola, I firI first want to say that I have decided to leave up the past news postings. I think it is very interesting to look back and see what has taken place and what has changed. Obviously a lot of where I had hoped Mystic 7 to be has not come to be… Through life you do what you can, deal with what life gives you and try to make the best of it. My goal right now is to get things in order so that I can put more time into music and the band. I am also going to be keeping an eye out for other musicians that I feel could be an asset and help move forward with Mystic 7. I am planning as well to post more news events that pertain to either Mystic 7, myself, or even when other Bands are playing that I will be attending.
Peace, James
06-25-2007 - Mystic 7 has endured many obstacles since forming in 1999, but with perseverance , and the desire to Rock- n-Roll, James Tyler has vowed to keep the flame alive.
James is currently keeping busy with a local Colorado cover band (The Remotes). and is still working on a release of a Mystic 7 CD.
When the time is right James planes on filling the missing spots for Mystic 7, and hitting the original circuit again.
03-31-2005 - Good
News : Things are back on track again, and we should be out gigging
a lot this spring, and summer.
We also have also acquired a Manager “Heather
Otterholt” to help out with booking, and keeping certain things organized.
She can be reached at Manager@Mystic7.com
Bad News : We still have no idea
(sigh) when Jetspeed
Records is going to finish the CD,
and get it released. But we will keep you up to date.
Keep
Rockin'
James
11-05-2004 - Mystic 7 can now be heard World Wide over the internet, via the Epic/Atari game Unreal Tournament 2003.
07-13-2004 - Tonight on Spike TV a snippet of "Wild Wild Women" will
be aired on
its new show "Tripped Out".
The clip is very brief, about 7 seconds long, but it’s pretty cool to hear
even a snippet played on national TV.
07-09-2004 - Mystic 7 Is Band Of The Month
Csnightlife411.com has put Mystic 7 as their band of the month for July.
Here is what Jeremy Fortune (Site Admin) had to say about M7. -
"Mystic 7 is definitely one of my favorite original bands. Hailing from
Colorado Springs, this all original rock and roll band has played clubs from
Pueblo to Denver giving people a taste of good rock & roll music with a
style that's all their own. This is a band that plays not for money, glory, or
fame, but because they love music and they have the talent and ability to give
something to the music community in Colorado. Their musical influences ranging
from Kiss & AC/DC to Motley Crew & Def Leppard have laid the groundwork
for an energetic band that is a must see for Rock fans in the Pikes Peak
Region."
06-08-2004 -

05-29-2004 - James
here, - Are long run of shows have come to an end for now. We are planing to
take a break, and work on some of the new material, plus the post CD production
stuff.
I’ve had some vocal problems the past few shows, and have done some
research on what to do. Since I had a major upper respiratory infection this
past winter. Im going to need about 3 weeks at least to rest my vocals, do to
coughing, and yelling on stage, it seems not even a week will do. :-(
Believe
you me, this pissis me off !!!!!
05-03-2004 - The : 07-16-2004 - @ The Oriental Theater (Denver) has been canceled.

Thanks Mystic 7
12-30-2003 - Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas, and that everyone has a
happy New Year.
The Band has been taking it easy the past few weeks, doing
some R&R, along with taking care of some personal bassness.
We all hope
that the CD will get wrapped up by the end of January, but since most of the
post production is out of our hands, we can only guess.
I also want to give
a shout out to Heather, thx for the support, you ROCK!!!!!!!
Take care, James
11-18-2003 - Mystic 7 returned from Hollywood about a week ago, where they spent up to the very last minute in the studio, finishing up the recording. The engineers now have to get their hands on it, and do their tweaking and mixing down. We've heard time frames of around a month before we see a final proof. If there are any errors, or places that we need to have them work out, we'll have to start playing a game of tag as we request things to be modified. But once the final mixdown is complete, then it's single time. Apparently the label likes to put out a single first, and see how the best song does on the radio. And we've been having tons of trouble choosing the best song, the one that will take off, that most people would respond to the best. Getting different reactions from different people about which songs they like. But once this final mixdown is complete, we're gonna need your help!! How? Mystic 7 is gonna hold a huge party, where we'll have you listen to the songs, and tell us the top three songs you like the best, and out of those, which one you think will be the one to take off. Until then, stay tuned, cause we'll be announcing the Mystic 7 "Rock The House" Party coming very soon! Until then, ROCK ON!!
10-30-2003 - Hey there all you web-surfing friends. James here, just wanted
to say hi, and that this is the eve of our departure for Hollywood, California,
This may very well be the beginning of everything I have ever hoped for.
For me this is what I have been dreaming of for over 16 years.
If
nothing ever comes of this, at least I was able to start, and be apart of a
great band. I will be able one day, to tell my grandchildren that I got a record
deal, went to Hollywood, and recorded a CD.
10-13-2003 - Hey everyone...Tony
Virus here. Just wanted to send out a message to everyone about what has been
happening for the past few months since I have been with the band. First of
all, since joining the band, I have the distinct honor and privilege to play on
stage with the two greatest musicians I have ever known, plus who I have called
"friend and family." James and Brian are like brothers to me. Thanks for
everything guys.
As you all know, we
got singed by Red Galaxy Records and we are heading out to record our first
debut album in November 2003. We are all pumped and excited since the road to
success is right around the corner. I know everyone loves our music and wants
to see the 80's come back, and that is our prime mission, to bring
back the 80s with a new sound, and we are the band to do it. Keep
checking our website for further information about the release date of the album
and future concert dates. Also, join our Yahoo Group. Its
FREE, that's right, FREE. Be the first to get
the latest news on what's going on around the band, post messages, and even find
out where we will be playing next.
We also had the
opportunity to be interviewed by the Mark Brothers on 96.1 KMOM in beginning of
October when we played at Tequilas. What a good way to be heard across Colorado
Springs and get the support from our local radio stations. Thanks KMOM.
I also want to thank
all of our fans and friends for supporting us through thick and thin. We would
not be where we are if it wasn't for all of you. Thanks for all of your
support. - Tony "Virus" Norell
08-27-2003 - Hey there fellow people who read the Mystic 7 news. James here
with a little update to what’s happening.
1- We have a drummer, his name
Tony Norell, he is fitting in real well, and kicking ass on the drums.
2-
We are scheduled to go to Hollywood in November to record our first signed CD,
with Red Galaxy Records. We are really hoping for the best, not like the local
sene isn’t fun and all, but hey...... Anyway enough dreaming of future, we have
Tonys first show coming up this Saturday, and we can’t wait to get rockin’ on
the stage again.
Later for now, James.
07-23-2003 - Mystic 7s Brian & James will be on hand July 26 at Murray Street Darts. They are two of the judges for the Mother-Palooza Battle of the Bands contest put on by Murray Street Darts, & Mother 96.1
Brian
& James are in the final stages of determining who will be the next, and
hopefully final drummer for the band. There a few people who have really stepped
up, and are trying hard for this opportunity.
Final announcement on the new
drummer and the Record Label will be posted soon. As well as a new look for
the web-site.
05-29-2003 - James here, just wanted to let the people who visit our sit know whats going on. We are currently looking for another drummer, with a little networking it shouldn’t be long. We are holding out this time for a drummer that is at the top of his/her, game, someone that can push us as hard as we push them. The plans we have for next year are BIG, we really need a grade A drummer. As I said in an earlier post, we have signed a deal with a LA Record Label, we are still waiting to get a confirmation back from them, Ill have more for everyone about this later, thx James.
03-05-2003 - [SHOWDOWN IRAQ] - Brian here... You know, I support peace, I really do. But when terrorism is so prevalant in the world today, you can't ignore that. It's a shame that so many people let the memory of 9/11 fade so fast, and the people that perished that tragic day. If we were to have stood by, and done nothing, then every terrorist organization out there would know that they could do whatever they wanted, with no consequences for their actions. We had to act, and we did. But people don't realize that it wasn't just Bin Laden we're after, but every terrorist out there. Bin Laden was the first of many. And whether he's still at large or not, doesn't matter. We have to continue pushing forward, even though many countries denounce our actions, forgetting 9/11, and as students around the country spoke out, showing their ignorance as well. Hell, no sane person out there wants war. But something has got to be done, and we're standing up, and doing something about it, where no others will. America has constantly been hated by other countries for one reason or another. This just gives them more ammo to hate us even more, because of their ignorance to the threats that exist. I think the biggest problem is, people FORGET. They forgot about 9/11, and Desert Storm, and what Sadaam did. The man cares nothing for his people, using civilians as human shields to protect his own ass. That's no man. That's a coward, and one that would use any arsenal at his convenience. Personally I think he's trying to bide time so he can hide everything, and give the inspectors a few items to destroy to pacify them and the rest of the ignorant world out there. If we let Sadaam be, there is no doubt in my mind that at one point, he would be able to lay his hands on a nuke, if he doesn't have one already. He will only continue to build his arsenal. There is a reason that we have U.S. Intelligence. There is a reason for our build up of troops over there. When you have that kind of intelligence, and at your fingertips, then maybe you can make more off an educated call about what's going on over there. Unless you prefer to wallow in your ignorance, spewing forth your protests for peace like most of the other ignorant people out there. Grow a brain, and start making educated decisions for yourself, and start remembering what got us to this point. Don't be stupid. REMEMBER... DON'T EVER FORGET...
02-22-2003 - As some of you may know the 2/21/03 Denver show did not happen. It appears as if someone dropped the ball in the line of communication. The band is attempting to determine the source of this mixup so this doesn’t happen in the future. Mystic 7 hopes to get back up to Denver very soon.
02-04-2003 - James here. Things are going really well, we are playing out more often, as well as getting ready to rerecord our top 10 songs, we are really wanting them to be radio ready. We also have been approached by a Independent LA record label. (I will leave them unnamed for now) They have offered us a multi- recording contract,,,,,, :-.As soon as we comb threw and find out if its going to be what we need it to be, we will let you our friends, and fans know. Wish us luck.
12-08-2002 - Ya, that's right, same damn date as the one below. Brian Evans here. I'd just like to make a comment about those people that think they are musicians, until they finally get involved with the band, and actually see that this shit TAKES WORK!! It ain't no fucking picnic! For all of you people out there that think you have what it takes, but can't make the fucking commitment, do us a favor, and stay in your little world where your pathetic lives really do actually relate to the kind of efforts we have received from you. Am I pissed? FUCK YA! I'm tired of people coming in here that we have taken our time, and especially James' time to audition, and these people never call us back! What the fuck is up with that?! You have fingers, you can dial a fucking phone, can't you? I'm tired of spineless people that don't have the decency to contact us, even after we leave them messages wondering what the hell is going on. For some people like Joey, kudos to you for sticking it out, even though it didn't result in something more permanent with us. If you're STILL wondering what I'm trying to say, I'll leave it at this... Don't talk the talk, unless you are willing, and can walk the walk. DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME!! We don't waste yours! Have I pissed you off yet? If I have, then mission accomplished. Maybe you'll think twice before wasting our time and yours. And all the rest of you, got a beef about something? Feel free to vent amongst yourselves. It does the body good. Would you like fries with that?
12-08-2002 - After some changes, and some hard
ass rehearsing, Mystic 7 is getting ready to hit the clubs again. With the new
drummer on board (Chad Chiles) things are sounding good. The band regrets that
there will be no 2nd guitarist to join the band @ this time.
As mentioned
in the 07-30-2002 posting by James, there is still hope for something big to
happen. The band has been approached by a few outside resources, a publishing
company most recently offered to publish some of the material for other band
/ artists. For right now the band is holding out for something more lucrative.
07-30-2002 - James here, I would first like to thank
those people who wished me a happy birthday, I did not think there was that
many people who took notice to that.
Looks like there are going to be some
big changes coming up, and possibly some good news for the band. I hate to leave
it at that, but I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet. I would also
like to say, lets all stick together and keep the religion of rock-n-roll alive.
I know the Mystic 7 team will.
05-29-2002 - (Brian Evans) Hello all... Brian here. Getting ready to head down, and get set up for our gig at Paradise City tonight. We're hoping for a good turnout. Although, due to it being a week night, ,we certainly understand the need for everyone to be in bed by a decent hour so they get enough rest for work tomorrow. We're in the same boat here. I probably won't get back up here to Denver until about 2:00-3:00 in th morning, and have to get up to hit work around 8:00 am. I've been recovering these past few weeks from emergency gall bladder surgery. I'm almost completely healed up, except for a little hole in my stomach that's trying to heal. So you won't see me jumping around or getting too crazy on stage tonight. Of course, I guess I never usually get that crazy anyway. But that's about to change. A huge thanks to all of you that come out and support the local music scene!! Thanks for your support, and hope to see you all out there tonight.
04-18-2002
- Hello people, James here. Here's a
few things that are going on right now. I had a talk with a good friend of the
band, (Tony Ralston) and we discussed him joining the team as a P.R. person.
The band is very excited as well as Tony. So as of now Tony is officially
Mystic 7s Northern Colorado P.R. . More info should be posted soon.
Summer
is upon us, and I was really wanting a Mystic 7 tank top that I could wear on
those ohh so hot days, so I went and made some up, and as soon as we can set
it up they will be available to order.
04-15-2002
- Thank you to all the people who came out to see the show at
Industrial Nation. Looks like Mystic 7 left an impression, Sherry the club owner
had no problem booking another show for a Saterday in July.
Mystic 7 is
still considering doing longer shows, and spitting it up into sets, which would
entail doing covers.
04-09-2002
- James here -
the trailer should be here sometime around the second week of May, so look for
us hitting some denver clubs soon.
We have our Industial Nation show
coming up in 2 days, rehearsed yesterday, and sounded real tight. Hope to see
you there,- J.T.
03-12-2002
- Hey everyone, James
here - Im sitting putting together a flyer for the April 11th show, and
decided to put some news out here for all you who like to know whatzaaaup...
The
band is getting a trailer by Aprils end, it should help in our endeavor
to conquer Denver, and the rest of Colorado.
We was suppose to play the
23 of March, but Brandon had a pre arranged vacation to Vegas. So our friends
Distant Warning stepped in to cover us.
So untill next time - Peace out.
12-31-01 - Here is a couple pics of James plated Iceman Guitar.
12-13-2001 - Things are getting closer, the band is about a month out from being ready to play, and kicking some ass. There is a little surprise that the band has instore, and as soon as everything is confirmed, the news will go out.
10-29-2001 - The band has acquired a place to start rehearsing again,
and plan to play out sometime in late December.
The band has discussed plans of adding another guitarist. No word yet on
whether they will.
The band has also discussed adding a set of 6 to 12 cover songs for playing
live, in various other clubs. No word yet on whether they will.
09-11-2001 - (B Leonard Pitts of the Miami Herald) - It's my job to
have something to say. They pay me to provide words that help make sense of
that which troubles the American soul. But in this moment of airless shock when
hot tears sting disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only
words that seem to fit, must be addressed to the unknown author of this
suffering.
You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard.
What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade
Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn? Whatever it
was, please know that you failed.
Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause.
Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve.
Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together.
Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a family
rent by racial, social, political and class division, but a family nonetheless.
We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous emotional energy on pop
cultural minutiae -- a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's misfortune, a
cartoon mouse. We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of
trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through life
with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent, though
-- peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to
do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith, believers
in a just and loving God.
Some people -- you, perhaps -- think that any or all of this makes us weak.
You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be
measured by arsenals.
IN PAIN - Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're
still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to
make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some Hollywood
blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel. Both in terms
of the awful scope of their ambition and the probable final death toll, your
attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history of
the United States and, probably, the history of the world. You've bloodied us
as we have never been bloodied before.
But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall.
This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time anyone
hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental
pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in our force. When
provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any suffering, pay any cost,
go to any length, in the pursuit of justice.
I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I
think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with
dread of the future.
In the days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers
pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done
to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security,
misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from this moment
sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined.
THE STEEL IN US -You see, the steel in us is not always readily apparent. That
aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don't know us well.
On this day, the family's bickering is put on hold.
As Americans we will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we
will rise in defense of all that we cherish.
So I ask again: What was it you hoped to teach us? It occurs to me that maybe
you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the case,
consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don't
know my people. You don't know what we're capable of. You don't know what you
just started.
But you're about to learn.

06-11-2001 -For those of you that always wanted to know the lyrics but were afriad to ask, well, we've taken out the guess work for you. We have now added a lyrics page that contains all of the... you guessed it... lyrics tothe songs. The new lyrics page can be accessed via the Music button from the menu, or you can follow this link to the lyrics.
05-02-2001 - After rethinking the strategy of having all of our songs out there for download, with web site size, and space costing money, we have decided to limit the availability of full song downloads to 3 per CD. Mystic 7 has finished re-recording the first CD, and will have it out here soon with 3 songs available to all for download. As always, every song will have a preview in Real Audio format that you can play to hear a preview of the song. As for full song downloads, in order to keep our costs to a minimum, we regret that we have to limit our expenditures in this manner. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at mystic7@mystic7.com.
04-18-2001 - We have finally got online ordering working! Ordering can be found on the Music link.
04-17-2001 - In an effort to provide the songs in the highest quality format, the songs have been re-recorded to file in 160Kbit format at 44Khz. As a result, the files are approximately twice their original sizes or more for some.
04-12-2001 - Brian here - You may have noticed a few differences on the site, thanks to Mr. Gif Man, our own James Tyler. We have had quite a few changes as well, regarding our music. We made a decision about the availability of our music to the general public, and decided that it was best to offer our music on the web for free so that everyone could get a chance to listen to our songs. What better way to promote all original music? While the MP3 files are not of the highest quiality, we still offer the CD, and have even lowered the price on the CD now to just $7.00. The songs from our 2nd CD our available now, and we are currently in the process of re-recording some of the songs on our first CD, and will have sound files out there as well once we have finished.
03-27-2001 - Well things are still not moving very fast, with the band not having a place to practice, but hopfully that will soon be remedied. On a better note, the band has got a sound system even God would be pleased with, and the 2nd CD is now done, and ready for everyone to listen to.
01-09-2001 - Things are still moving forward. The new songs should be done soon, and still no word on when the band will be playing out again. They are in the market for a new sound system, and are also creating a cover for the new CD.
12-14-2000 - Things are a little slow , cuz of the moving Brian, and
James had to do, but things should pickup soon.
On a good note, the band has been recording some new songs, and should be done
and on CD soon.
Also, they are rerecording some of the others that we felt could sound a little
better. (Wild Wild Women, and No Time).
10-29-2000 - Brian has finally found a great job up in downtown Denver with a great company, with great management, and great people. Maybe some other companies could take some much needed lessons from this one.
08-14-2000 - Hello people James here - I have finaly learned how to build, and edit these web pages,,,, :-) thanks to Danger Boy Brain. So look for some faster growth to the website.
08-12-2000 - James is working on a new guitar! This one is going to be hot! Of course, don't want to give away too much just yet... :-) And Brian is currently unemployed, Searching for a new job, no thanks to people that he thought he could count on. He'll leave it at that for now. Wouldn't want to get unprofessional.
08-03-2000 - Mystic 7 is currently in the process of working with another drummer. So far so good. They should be back up and gigging very soon. By Thier calculations, They should be gigging again in two months or less. They trying to get some current photos so you can get a glimpse of the newcomer.
